SKLPC WA invites you to showcase your artistic talent and decor at the Diwali 2016 Function
BEST OUT OF WASTE
“A concept which has global significance and gives a new idea to implement and recycle products which are otherwise redundant”
What you need to do:
Get your creative hat on.
Create Diwali themed models out of waste items at home.
Models will be displayed on tables around the venue.
TABLE CENTREPIECES
“Aarti thaali decoration to be placed on each banquet table as a centrepiece”
What you need to do:
Register your name in advance if you would like to decorate aarti thaali to be displayed on each banquet table.
Hand decorate a thaali from home (thaali size to be between 10-12 inches & any materials such as flowers, jewels, grains, colour, paint etc. can be used).
Leave room in the centre of the aarti thaali for a small battery powered tealight candle (to be provided by SKLPC WA).
KUTCHI DECORATION
“Bring colour to the event by showcasing Kutchi decor”
What you need to do:
Register your name in advance if you would like to contribute colourful items to be displayed around the venue.
Examples of kutchi decor you can bring: toran, chaniya, bandhani saree, aabhla/embroidered items, ornaments, paintings, chaakra, cushion cover etc.
ALL of the above decor items must be dropped off at HBF Arena, Kennedya Drive, Joondalup at 9 am on 5 November 2016 or earlier by prior arrangement.

SKLPC WA invites you to compete in
The Great Kanbi Pickle Off!
“If you have what it takes to make a mouth watering Athanu that pairs perfectly with a warm roti, then this competition is for you!”
What you need to do:
Make a minimum of 300g of delicious Athanu.
Place your Athanu in a small-medium sized clear jar.
Bring your Athanu to the SKLPC WA Diwali 2016 function.
Arrive at the function with your Athanu by 5pm on 5 November.
Winner to be announced on the night!

SKLPC WA invites you to compete in
‘How Tikkhu is your Marchu?’
“We all have that yearning to show off what Murchas we are growing in our garden, so why not take this opportunity to showcase your prized Murchas!”
What you need to do:
Source a super Tikkhu Marchu!
Transform that Marchu into the ‘talk of the gaam’ by making a minimum of 300g of chutney/jam/sauce/athanu etc. or bring it in it’s raw fiery form!
Bring your Tikkhu Murchu item to the SKLPC WA Diwali 2016 function.
Arrive at the function with your Tikkhu Murchu item by 5pm on 5 November.
Winner to be announced on the night!

Annakut for the Hungry
We would like to share the theme of ANNAKUT (mountain of food) by collecting food items to donate to the following charities:
Oz Harvest | Basket Brigade
What you need to do:
Choose 1 or more non-perishable item(s) from your pantry. Examples of non-perishable items you can bring:
TINNED fruit, baked beans, sweetcorn, spaghetti, soup, diced tomatoes
PACKAGED noodles, pasta ready meals, vegemite, jam, peanut butter, biscuits, dried fruit, nuts, lollies/sweets, muesli bars
Ensure any TINNED foods do not require a tin opener.
Please do not bring chocolate or chocolate biscuits (as these will melt).
Please do not bring items packaged in glass.
Bring your selected item(s) along with you to the SKLPC WA Diwali 2016 function.
Place your item(s) in the area designated for Annakut for the Hungry.
